MEDIATION AND ARBITRATION SERVICES The firm utilizes its extensive experience in technical matters and legal expertise in its areas of practice to provide mediation and arbitration (alternative dispute resolution or ADR) services. Obviously, these services are available only to non-clients where we are not representing a party in a dispute or potential dispute. The benefits of ADR are significant in that both minor and major disputes can be resolved even prior to litigation, or if litigation has been filed, the ADR process will provide a mechanism for the parties to explore their positions, find potential common ground that would facilitate a resolution of the conflict, and avoid the risks and costs associated with litigation. Because our attorneys have extensive experience in technical matters we are often able to help parties in ADR understand and express these issues, and because we have extensive litigation and business experience, and experience representing parties in disputes, the issues, exposures, and opportunities can be fairly quickly defined, thus allowing resolution and the parties the opportunity to return their attentions to their core business activities. |
