ENVIRONMENTAL

A major area of practice for our firm involves the evaluation and application of environmental initiatives and dealing with the associated regulatory impacts. Aspects of this practice include representing manufacturing, transportation, agricultural, food products and energy clients before administrative agencies, determining the applicability of the numerous federal, state and local laws and regulations to a client’s particular facilities or activities, assisting clients with legislative enactments and agency rulemakings, and working with new or expanding facilities to identify and evaluate potentially applicable permit requirements and to obtain, renew or modify permits. We have extensive experience in drafting contracts to minimize environmental risks, in activities involving remediation of contamination and correction of environmental noncompliance and deficiencies, and in establishing and managing programs for companies to resolve environmental issues related to both ongoing and discontinued operations.

The firm also works with emerging environmental issues, with a particular focus on regulatory and risk issues associated with nanotechnology.
